SHORT ENCOUNTER (Egon Erger)

I first saw her on Sunday, now Tuesday is gone
And I still be-lieve I’m in a dream.
Her skin like satin, her eyes bright like the sun
The prettiest girl I’ve ever seen.

She spoke about truth, she sang about lies
She drew con-clusions on the wall.
She said her thoughts were buzzing like flies
And maybe some-day she’ll give me a call .

Is it any any wonder
That people sometimes get mad
It was just a short en-counter
But it was the best I’ve ever had.

Suddenly she was there, silhou-etted in the rain
And raindrops danced around her feet.
She turned a-round like a hurricane
Wearing only a purple sheet.

Then she reached out her hand, I followed her way
Until the end of the road.
I lost control and began to sway
And I lost every single thought.

Is it any any wonder
That people sometimes get mad
It was just a short encounter
But it was the best I’ve ever had.
